Fawzia Koofi is an Afghan woman from Badakhshan, Afghanistan, the first female Deputy Speaker of Parliament, a peace negotiator, one of the world's 50 greatest leaders, a BBC 100 Woman, and an author. Born in 1975 in the Kuf Ab district of Badakhshan province, she comes from a large and politically active family.
Ms. Koofi is a well-known advocate for women's rights in Afghanistan and has played an active role in passing supportive laws for women and children, including the law against violence against women in Afghanistan.

Fawzia Koofi holds bachelor's degrees in law and political science, as well as in commerce management, and two master's degrees in commerce management and international relations. She was the first educated daughter in her family and also the first female political figure in Afghanistan.

Being the nineteenth child out of twenty-three siblings, Ms. Koofi is a mother of two daughters whose father died in a Taliban jail two years after their marriage.

She has served in various capacities, including as UNICEF's child support officer in Afghanistan, representative of the people of Badakhshan, member of the Afghan parliament, chairperson of the Women's Affairs Commission, chairperson of the Human Rights Committee of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, and a member of the Afghan peace negotiating team. She has also been the leader of a movement named "Wave of Change."
Fawzia Koofi, known for breaking many boundaries, is praised for her efforts in supporting women's and children's rights, her political role in securing peace in her country, and her commitment to supporting women's education. She has won numerous international awards, including the "Fifty World Leaders" award from Fortune magazine, the "Global Emerging Leaders" award from the World Economic Forum, the title of "Fifty Brave Women" from the Atlantic Council, the "Sustainable Development and Diversity" award from the Asia Foundation, the Human Rights Award from the Spanish Bar Association, the "Anna Politkovskaya" award from the Women in War organization, and the "2021 Champion of the Year" award from the American Pat Tillman Foundation.

She has always been dedicated in her efforts to fight against any injustice, deprivation, and restrictions against Afghan women. Now, she has also announced her support for the "Woman Post" movement and intends to advance and unite with Afghan women in coordination with this movement.

The "Woman Post" movement aims to play an active and influential role in supporting women and ensuring their basic rights by utilizing both Afghan and foreign influential figures to exert their influence in support of women.
